Staff Software Engineer
About Dataland
At Dataland, we’re building the world’s first Generalized Data Interface.
Modern businesses have state spread across dozens of different systems - everything from databases like Postgres, Mongo, & Snowflake, to software products like Zendesk, Salesforce, & Stripe.
A Generalized Data Interface allows teams to work across all of these different systems from one place. It is the single tool from where operators can both understand state and take action across the entire fleet of software systems that make up their business.
Our goal is to build one super app that empowers the frontline teams responsible for running a business to be 10x more efficient than before.
If you're excited by what we're building and have the skills to help, please apply to join us on the journey. We’re well-capitalized and backed by South Park Commons, Switch Ventures, and the leadership team at Palantir.
About the role
Skills: Kubernetes, Rust, Distributed Systems, GPU Programming
You will build v1, v2, ... vN of the Generalized Data Interface.
You’re excited about building fundamentally new capabilities to help businesses better work with their data. You care deeply about our end user and the outcomes that they’re responsible for achieving. You’re motivated by the intellectual challenge of building software from the ground level all the way up.
Here are some skills & experience we want to see:
Experience and comfort with high-performance software, systems programming, and graphics programming.
Versatility across the full stack, from frontend to backend to infra, and across a wide array of technologies. You should be comfortable viewing software as software, without artificial boundaries.
Strong bias towards action and autonomous problem-solving.
Some tech we use include Rust, gRPC, Apache Arrow, Kubernetes, WASM, WebGL, Emscripten, TypeScript, & React. This is always evolving and we’ll be glad to ramp you up on anything new.
