We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven software engineer to assist in building next-generation software for hardware engineers. In this role, you will:
Collaborate with the product team and customers to implement a joyful user interface
Ship and own product features that have improve customer workflows
Develop backend infrastructure to support growing number of users
We primarily work with TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Django, Terraform, and Python.
Our mission is to evolve hardware documentation. Quarter20 is a next-generation collaboration platform that automates technical documentation for hardware engineers. We help engineers and their manufacturing teams automatically create build instructions and other forms of documentation, accelerating the timeline from design to manufacturing.
Quarter20 was founded by Mai Bui and Addy First, a hardware engineer and software go-to-market specialist hailing from teams at SpaceX, Tesla, and Microsoft. We are venture-backed by top investors and technologists. We are a fast-growing startup and looking for awesome people to grow our product, vision, and culture.
2+ years of experience as a front end software engineer (Note: Degree in computer science not required!)
Experience with modern front end frameworks like React.js
Experience with modern web technologies like Python or Typescript
Excellent communication skills, with an ability to explain ideas clearly, give and receive feedback, and foster a good rapport with teammates
Have interested in or built anything in the 3D space, including gaming or animation
Excited to build productivity tools and optimize workflows
Inspired by fun and intuitive UX experiences
Experience designing and implementing APIs
Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience with modern testing frameworks like Jest or Playwright
Experience with distributed systems, microservice architecture, cloud platforms, and RESTful APIs
Experience with AWS, particularly Lambda
Experience with three.js
Experience with Figma or equivalent
Background or interest in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and/or CAD

The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. Your actual compensation will be a mix of base salary and equity based on your experience and the unique skills you bring to the company.
