You will be the Staff Software Engineer for the Virtual Prototyping group. Our team delivers advanced visualization, simulation, and digital‑twin technologies across Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, turning complex systems into interactive 3D, AR/VR, and web‑based experiences that drive faster, better‑informed decisions from concept through sustainment.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Staff Software Engineer you will be responsible for designing, building, and sustaining real‑time 3D and web‑based applications that enable visualization, simulation, and digital‑twin capabilities for multiple Lockheed Martin products.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Creating high‑performance real‑time 3D applications and web visualization tools using modern frameworks (Unity, Unreal, WebGL, etc.).
Developing front‑end and back‑end components with JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, C++, Python, and related technologies.
Integrating and extending game‑engine pipelines to support data‑driven, networked virtual‑prototyping and digital‑twin experiences.
Collaborating with distributed engineers, designers, and domain experts on software architecture, UI/UX design, testing, and continuous delivery.
About Virtual Prototyping
The Virtual Prototyping group provides cutting‑edge visualization and simulation solutions enterprise‑wide, including product visualization, AR/VR/spatial computing, human‑machine interfaces, digital‑twin/operational‑awareness tools, and virtual training/serious‑gaming applications.

This position can be located in Fort Worth, TX, Marietta, GA, or Palmdale, CA.
Desired Skills
Experience building interactive web applications that integrate 3D content or simulation data.
Familiarity with WebGL, Three.js, or similar visualization libraries.
Experience with C++, C#, or Python for backend or simulation integration.
Exposure to mixed reality (AR/VR), spatial computing, or digital twin applications.
Knowledge of containerization and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
Experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, or real-time networked systems.
Familiarity with 3D graphics pipelines, shaders, and GPU programming (DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan).
Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and domains quickly.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work remotely
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
