Senior Javascript Developer (Animation)

We are searching for a senior frontend developer at GameGrid, you'll play a pivotal role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining our cutting-edge web applications and interactive games. We are looking for a person who is very strong in web animation and related javascript libraries like Canvas, Threejs, animejs, matterjs, etc; We will look to this person to bring our designs and games to life, drawing on their previous experience, current best practices, and staying ahead of the curve with the latest libraries and approaches..

In addition, the person who fills this role will have a strong sense of ownership. Ownership to us does not mean long hours or tied to your IDE coding endlessly. It means a sense of pride in the things you build, a real understanding of the users who use it, the experience and acumen associated with making suggestions and implementing things that weren’t asked for, but you know will make everything better. We are looking for this as much as we are looking for a talented developer.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Spec, develop, and maintain efficient frontend components for our state-of-the-art responsive web applications using React and NextJs.

• Research, define and implement the best animation libraries to fit the needs of our product and games.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to create a seamless user experience.

• Bring figma designs and product requirements to life with fluid and beautiful web animations for an exceptional user experience

• Work with Websockets for real-time communication and Swagger for API documentation.

• Uphold high-quality coding standards and best practices as well as review work by fellow engineers and provide feedback.

You're a perfect fit if:

• You have a deep proficiency in React, NextJs, Matterjs, threejs and other animation and physics libraries for javascript

• A proven track record of developing exceptional animated experiences and games in javascript frameworks

• You have a solid understanding of TypeScript.

• You have a strong skill set in SCSS for styling and Redux for state management.

• You're an expert in using Websockets for real-time communication and adept at integrating Rest APIs.

• You have experience with Swagger for API documentation.

Bonus Points:

• Have a portfolio of games or projects we can play that you have directly contributed to

• You have strong computer science fundamentals and experience with high-traffic web software development.

• You have knowledge of Firebase / PostHog for event publishing and product analytics.

• You're familiar with OneSignal for push notifications.

Location/Time Zone:
Can be remote but we have mandatory team collaboration hours of 10am to 1pm EST M-F.
