Frontend Developer

You will be the key person to help design and build the next generation of user interfaces for skippers and operators of Roboat vessels. Skipper-control panels, remote-control centers, simulator environments; all of these require UI/UX work, and we need you to make it happen!

Your technical skills will be challenged to ensure the scalability, safety, and responsiveness of our systems. You'll be interacting with a large variety of data: from machine learning pipelines, low level actuators, maps, and vessel behavior. The crux is to present timely, relevant information to communicate the vessel’s state and behavior.

Ultimately you will be creating the future look-and-feel of our product and in doing so set the gold standard for autonomy UI/UX in the maritime domain. Our way of working emphasizes individual autonomy, versatility, and a willingness to jump in to help others. Everyone’s diverse skills, experiences, and ambitions are needed to make Roboat a success.

What you'll bring:

• The skills to design, build and ship working products.

• Experience with React and TypeScript, or an equivalent Front-end framework.

• An eye for design and how to effectively communicate information.

• Excellent programming and debugging ability.

• Willingness to talk to our clients to understand requirements.

• A knack for implementing responsive, elegant UI.

• A drive to do your best work.

Nice to haves:

• Ability to make renders and mock-ups.

• A feeling for interface and interaction design.

• Experience with leaflet.js or similar for creating interactive maps.

• Prior work with Three.js.

• Built dashboards for real-time applications with Websockets.

• ROS or ROS2 framework experience.

• Experience with C++ & Python.

• Docker, dev-ops and deployment.

• Experience with Figma.

• Prior work with autonomous driving or robotic systems.

• A connection to boats.
