Internship: Frontend Development – 3D Surgery Planning (m/f/d)

We are Inzipio, an award-winning digital health startup developing web-based 3D software tools to enable surgeons to virtually plan complex surgical procedures. Inzipio has been founded in 2022 as a spin-off from the RWTH Aachen University Hospital by an interdisciplinary team with backgrounds in medicine, software development, engineering and business.

We are offering a software development internship (3 to 6 months) with focus on the development of our 3D surgical frontend application. In this role, you will support our team in creating user-friendly 3D web interactions. This will enable you to gain experience in the development of algorithms that permit complex interactions of 3D anatomical data in a web environment and the definition of interfaces to allow communication of a frontend user interface with AI applications in the backend.

What will you be doing?

● Design and develop reactive 3D web components and UI

● Optimize our existing pipeline to improve performance, scalability, and security

● Collaborate with our backed developers to ensure integration with our backend

● Verification and testing of our software systems

● Work with our medical team and pilot customers to improve our products usability

● Take on versatile tasks in our fast-growing software company

What will you need to become part of us?

● Be enrolled in a university program (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in Computer Science, Engineering, or another related technical field

● High proficiency in frontend development, especially in React (JS/TS)

● Experience in working with 3D geometry data (Three.js, React Three Fiber)

● Understanding of software system architecture and design

● Fluency in English (written & spoken)

● Self-motivation and ability to work independently

● Strong communication skills and being a team player
