Client Software Engineer

We have an exciting new role in our client-side development team for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and enjoys building world class casino games.

You’ll be reporting to one of the Senior Software engineer team leads in a diverse team who share a passion for casino games and creating the best games for our players.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team to create high quality casino games for international audiences, maintaining the code base and documentation while working in a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop JavaScript-ES6 based slots, table games and instant win games for both web and mobile, based on business requirements and the studio roadmap (16 games live in 2024 and 24 live games in 2025).

  • Contribute with improvements to existing software and documentation (game front ends, frameworks, tools...), adding high quality, reusable and scalable solutions.

  • Understand product specifications and design coding structures to deliver high quality games and services.

  • Deliver projects to an agreed schedule communicating timescales with the project lead.

  • Understand and balance commercial needs and collaborate in the definition of structured phases of work and game delivery plans.

  • Ensure that all code written is well planned and tested thoroughly before submitting it for quality assurance.

  • Adhere to the ways of working agreed in the Core Gaming studio.


What you’ll bring:

  • Experience developing games (i.e. audio visually rich content with detailed/complex animations and player controls), JavaScript (ES2015+ standard and understanding of Promises and async/await) and APIs.

  • Knowledge of JavaScript libraries, Pixi.js and Three.js; image and video formats.

  • Good understanding and experience with OOP concepts & design patterns.

  • Experience with Git, GitHub, Docker, NodeJS.

  • Able to follow coding standards: excellent quality, scalable, clean, readable, formatted code.

  • Able to write clear technical documentation.

  • Ability to work as part of a team of software engineers and to work closely with other multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to set priorities and focus on what is most important.

  • Structured thinking and a clear ability to plan and deliver customer outcomes.

  • Ability to adapt to change.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical solutions in a simple and effective manner.

  • Commercially aware with a strong customer focus.

  • Continuous learning, staying current on the latest technologies.
